As we reflect on 2021 we are incredibly thankful and humbled. The year presented intense challenges and unexpected turns, but in return fostered growth, creative thinking and asked us to draw closer together as an Eastern Floral team. From department changes, to busy holiday rushes, anniversary milestones, a successful wedding season and a fantastic Open House, we couldn’t be more grateful.

Rooted Plant Department
Our plant department, Rooted, not only got a new name but a major face lift!
Rooted is home to a wide variety of exotic and traditional green plants, fun plant accessories, informational books, containers and more! In the Rooted department you will find a different plant at every turn, natural light pouring through the skylight, the relaxing sounds of fountains all around and eye-catching palm wallpaper creating a welcoming environment. We have seen so many social groups and communities come together “rooted” in a shared love for plants. Our hope is that Rooted is a place where people can come and find a plant that speaks to them, so they can enjoy its beauty and all of its benefits! An exciting launch event was held for Rooted in June, with proceeds going to support the Mental Health Foundation. Department updates coming soon to easternfloral.com/rooted

Wedding Season Success
Our wedding consultants Rachel and Lauren had their hands full this busy wedding season! Hundreds of bouquets, centerpieces, boutonnieres and other stunning floral pieces brightened and tied together wedding celebrations all over West Michigan. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
This year we had the honor of partnering with the American Cancer Society to raise awareness and funds for both childhood and breast cancer research efforts. In September, a plush donation drive ran in-store and online. With the help of our incredible customers and community a collection of adorable and lovable plush animals found new homes with kids on the Oncology unit at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Special floral arrangements were sold in September and October to raise additional funds for ACS.

Petal It Forward
On October 20th, 1000 bouquets were handed out throughout Grand Rapids as part of the #petalitforward movement, with the goal of spreading happiness in the community! This is a movement that takes place every year in the floral industry all over the United States. We are thankful to the Mental Health Foundation for partnering with us again this year. Flowers are a proven mood booster, and we know that everyone could use a little something to brighten their day! This is a day we look forward to every year and our hearts were warmed and encouraged by many of the stories we heard throughout the day. Bing Celebrates 20 Years Of Ownership
On October 27, 2001 Bing Goei walked into Eastern Floral and assumed ownership. 20 years later, Bing continues to lead his staff with excellence and determination. Bing stated on his ownership anniversary; ” Eastern Floral is proud to be able to continue serving West Michigan with quality flowers and plants. Thank you Grand Rapids and West Michigan for your faithful support!” Bing also had the honor of being named to “The Grand Rapids 200 – The Most Powerful Business Leaders In West Michigan” again this year.
Open House Festivities
The Open House has become a local tradition to many. After having to cancel the Open House in 2020, we were so thankful to be able to open our doors and hold our Open House once again! This two day celebration was filled with gorgeous holiday decorations, raffles, live Reindeer, crafts, special refreshments, a live charcuterie demo with @SayCheeseGR and more! We loved seeing all of the smiling faces and getting into the holiday spirit with those who stopped by.
Design And Consult Room Update
A colorful and welcoming space was created to hold our monthly design classes and wedding consultations. With it s bold wallpaper, multipurpose rolling tables and plush new seating, we wanted this space to offer comfort and foster creativity! Information on our design classes can be found here.
